I highly recommend any fashionista in the Chicagoland to attend the Chicago Fashion Connect Industry Mixer. This event allows industry insiders to network and connect with one another. I already attended the Mixer in September, let me say it is worth it! There is a guest designer who will be featured in the mixer; Crystal B. Designs. So come on, attend your first mixer and be prepared to be wowed!!!

This past Sunday....September 25, for all fashionistas alike, there was a ceremony honoring those that have influenced the Chicago Business and Fashion Industry. This ceremony was presented by the ever-fab Red Carpet Concierge of Chicago!! The ceremony was hosted by Gloria the hat!! A fun-loving fashionable socialite!!

Estrella Modas* had 2 fashionistas attend the show; and when they returned, all they did was RAVE about the event. The Chicago Fashion community attended, PLUS there was fun entertainment, networking, fashion show and just overall a FAB event to attend. Our fashionistas; LaRecia and Nicole also took some time to interview some of the stellar recipients and staff at the Outstanding Business and Fashion Awards Ceremony. 

Gloria the Hat: 

      A Chicago Fashion staple, she has been event planning for over 40 years. Her inspiration comes from her background. Gloria came from humble beginnings; growing up in the South Side of Chicago, she always strived not only to make something of herself but to give back to the community where she came from. Gloria also states that, “a woman should never leave the house without a beautiful hat.”

  Bryan K. Osborn:

  Bryan is known for his elegant, ivory gowns. His inspiration was vanilla, yes such as Vanilla Ice cream (Very yummy inspiration). He loves being in Chicago and loves the architecture of the city!!!!

 Asha Spacek:

    She is the Director and Founder of UR Supermodels. Very busy, but loving her career, she is an inspiration to all of us ladies. She always has an eye out for models that are unique and that stand out.  

It was a fantastic event and we are all looking forward to next's year ceremony!! Thank you Sandra Smith-Doghmi & Chakib Doghmi!!!

KX Fine Art Fashion Gallery hosted by Now You Know Events....

This past Friday September 23, I had the pleasure of attending the FIRST EVER Now You Know hosted event called; KX Fine Art Fashion Gallery Show!!!! Let me just say, that this event was beautiful and it showcased the Now You Know ladies talent in not only promoting events all over town, but also hosting events.

This event  also took place during the 1 year anniversary of the founding of Now You Know....This gallery showcased Kayoua Xiong from kx photography (also a part of Know You Know) work which was about capturing a woman's body. It was stunning and almost made me a little ashamed about eating that whopper for lunch.

I also had the pleasure of meeting Katie C Cahnmann, the CEO and Editor-in-Chief of Now You Know. She showed us around, pointing out all the marvelous photographs also informing us that this gallery will be opened to the public till Sunday evening. Katie also hinted that there are many shows to come from Now You Know....leaving me as giddy as a school girl!! Cannot wait!!!!!!

Ameena Payne

Also at the gallery was Ameena Payne, one of the models of the gallery. Let me just say: STUNNING!!! She not only is breathtaking in the photograph, but in person! You see her and you know she is a model!! She showed us her pictures and talked a little about her experiences as a model. Sadly, she was wanted from all corners of the gallery, so my time with her was limited!!!!!

 Also on attendance was Raven the Founder of Chicago Fashion Connect and many other staples from the Chicago Fashion Industry. Great time, great showing; DEFINITELY looking forward towards another event from the Now you Know team!
